Abbot Mortimer

Abbot Mortimer

“Are you going to go down on your knees and beg for your life, old one?”
Abbot Mortimer stared calmly into Cluny’s savage eye. “I will never bend my knee on my own behalf. However, if I thought I could save the life of one of my friends I would gladly fall down on both knees. But I know you, Cluny, better than you know yourself. There is not a scrap of pity or mercy in your heart, only a burning desire for vengeance. Therefore, I will not kneel to one who is consumed by evil.”  (more…)

“When you choose the fight, you must take the consequences, win or lose.”
-Bain, to Faile Bashere “The Wheel of Time Series”

Welcome to Monday’s quotes!  I’ve decided that every Monday, I am going to write a post of a quote from my favorite series.  I introduce to you today’s quote, from one of my all-time favorites “The Wheel of Time” by Robert Jordan.

When I first read this quote I thought of my mother and the lectures she would give me and my sibling whenever we fought.  Now I could be wrong, but the message to me was, for every action you choose there is a consequence.  It could be good or bad, positive or negative, but when it is all done and said we are the ones to deal with it.  The choices we make are our own, and we are responsible for our own actions.  So friends today, “When you choose the fight, you must take the consequences, win or lose.”

r-HARRY-POTTER-QUOTES-large570Hello readers, start your day with an inspirational quote from one of my favorite book series, Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling.  One that really stuck to me is the words spoken by the missed Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore.

“Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic.  Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.”

–Albus Dumbledore

Remember guys what you say can affect those around you.  They may not cause physical damage, but emotionally.  Hurtful words cause pain, but caring words I would like to say can cure cancer, unfortunately they don’t.  If you see a friend who is down in the blue, be a good buddy and help them cheer up, a couple good words can help them last the day.
